Where it all began.
Inspired by ornamental Christmas door hangers and DIY shelving products, the Cab Caddy began as a one-time, private project to “stack and tilt” amp and cab components without falling. With years in the making, the Cab Caddy has undergone extensive product research, market analysis, product development, testing, hardware application, metal fabrication, and comprehensive design & model prototyping. Patent attorneys filed extensive documentation on all product models, based on federal patent compliance.
The Cab Caddy evolved from the sparks of grinding steel, in the back of a garage, with just a few tools and a special idea.
Research and initiative.
A three-year, quasi-longitudinal study was initiated, from informal field observation to more purposive data inquiry. The study involved a thorough examination of product reviews, online comments, musicians, and onsite interviews with store chain managers (from select locations in Southern California and Nevada).
Based on the findings, the Cab Caddy should be very successful. It may even change the way amps & cabs are utilized! No other product quite like it!
Our target audience.
The Cab Caddy made its industry-wide debut at NAMM 2024, the mega event of the year exclusive to the music industry. The Cab Caddy was very well received.
Essentially, the Cab Caddy is designed for both professional and non-professional musicians, who might otherwise shy away from tilting back their equipment. However, tilting back an amp and cab has never been easier, and can significantly enhance the tone and projection of one’s sound, well beyond the floor! With the Cab Caddy, players can tap the sweet, natural resonance of separate audio components, well beyond any combo enclosure.
Biography.
John is a mild-mannered professor by day, and an aspiring musician by night. Despite his father’s advice to pursue something else with a “paycheck,” his passion for music kept him playing for years, both professionally and pro-bono. He has played on several albums, including one by a major pop artist. “Regrettably, I didn’t copyright my music back in the day and was surprised to hear it on the radio, and even at the market! Still looking for closure on that one,” John laughs.
Today, John writes and records his own music. He often jokes that he can’t afford to buy any, so he produces his own. "No pro audio engineering, fancy EQ, drum loops, or even fruit loops! Just rough tracks for those who like to ride the train!” John adds.
Aside from music, John also has a passion for education and student success. He’s a two-time Teacher of the Year, recognized by the Board of Trustees, the California Department of Education, and by former Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, among others. John also holds several advanced degrees, including two master’s and a doctorate
